Danish companies are more often still moving into the global market when they recruit to their companies in Denmark or abroad. At DI’s office in Mumbai, TARGET Headhunting is experiencing an increasing demand for employees to Danish Companies both in India and in Denmark.
As a natural cause of the rapid economic growth in India the number of Danish companies operating in India with a need to recruit competent managers and specialists is increasing.
“Currently more than 100 Danish companies are established in India, and of course they have an increasing demand for recruiting capable employees to run their business,” says Ejvind Vøgg, leader of DI’s office in Mumbai.
This is one of the first challenges Danish companies face when they set-up in India. Not only do they need to find Indian employees, but also the right employees.
This demands for significant experience in the Indian market and a large network to find employees who not only possess the necessary professional competences, but also the cultural understanding that is needed to work for a Danish company in India.
The majority of employees are Indian
Carsten H. Gjørtsvang CEO and Partner in TARGET Headhunting ApS have established an office at DI’s office in Mumbai. He emphasizes that it is imperative to companies that they find the right people.
”Danish companies in India normally have just a few Danish managers or specialists in their Indian business. The majority is Indian. And it needs to be the right people. It is important to make out the professional as well as cultural qualifications of the Indian candidates to find the right woman or man for the job.
Therefore it is also essential to have a local partner to discuss the candidates with because the culture, spirit and behaviour of the company need to match the new candidate. This is why preliminary work, including analysis and sense of the company is extraordinarily important to find the right employee,” says Carsten H. Gjørtsvang.
Internationally qualified Indian employees
”In addition there is numerous qualified Indians with an international orientation within a number of academic fields,” adds Carsten H. Gjørtsvang, who besides sourcing employees to companies in India also recruit to positions in companies in Denmark.
